Actelion is a leader in the field of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Our portfolio of PAH treatments covers the spectrum of disease, from WHO Functional Class (FC) II through to FC IV, with oral, inhaled and intravenous medications.

 

In accordance with current regulatory and health care compliance guidelines, the MSL provides fair balanced, objective, clinical and scientific information support to health care professionals (HCPs) and to internal business partners per business needs. Must stay well-informed of current scientific and treatment landscape trends in therapeutic area(s) of focus and is responsible for building external relationships with recognized experts, community physicians, investigators, prioritized external stakeholders and other HCPs related to the current and future Janssen Actelion PAH/PH therapeutic area and associated products in Cleveland/Pittsburgh.

 

·       Builds external relationships with prioritized external customers/stakeholders and be able to address their unmet educational needs and understand their treatment landscape.

·       Responds to external customer unsolicited request for scientific information and provides education on the safe and effective use of products within the Janssen Actelion PAH/PH therapeutic area, in accordance with current regulatory and health care compliance guidelines.


·       Collects and communicates clinical insights and intelligence on the market environment, clinical strategies, competition, and other developments relevant to Janssen Actelion PAH/PH therapeutic area and participates in appropriate Medical Affairs Field strategies to address feedback and/or uncovered educational gaps.

·       A field based MSL must be self-motivated, with strategic thinking and strong geographical management skills and demonstrates strategic territory planning including communicating with business partners, prioritizing franchise customer-based initiatives, and managing field responsibilities while balancing administrative duties and project responsibilities.


·       Develops scientific and business acumen and demonstrates operations excellence including timely completion of assigned tasks, documentation requirements, milestones, and required trainings.

·       Follows all internal policies andfunctions as scientific and clinical expert on current and future Janssen Actelion PAH/PH therapeutic area and associated products relevant to internal business partners and external customers.

·       Must stay well-informed of current scientific and treatment landscape trends in therapeutic area(s) of focus.

·       May participate in special projects led by Medical Affairs including, but not limited to, scholarly activities such as research, publication planning, poster development, and presentations. Scientific support provided per business needs to internal business partners.

·       Represents and supports Janssen Actelion PAH/PH therapeutic area at scientific meetings including congresses, symposia, or other scientific venues and interprets and reports findings with recommendations for action to relevant internal stakeholders.

·       Develops scientific and business acumen and demonstrates operations excellence including timely completion of assigned tasks, documentation requirements, milestones, and required trainings.

·       Maintain customer-centric thinking recognizing the diversity of customers and their needs striving for customer satisfaction. Build Interdependent partnership by communicating openly and frequently with business partners, demonstrating commitment to the partnership in both words and actions. Maintains focus and composure in uncertain circumstances with minimal directions. Demonstrate high organizational skills and sound judgment in all functions.


Qualifications

·       Doctorate Degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) or Advanced Medical Degree (NP, PA) with 2+ years relevant Therapeutic Area clinical experience.

·       Preferably greater but at a minimum 0-2 years relevant work experience (clinical or research experience) and/or related pharmaceutical work experience.

·       Ability to gain in-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge and comfortable with utilization of computer, company applications, and remote technology.

·       Fully understand and apply MSL standard operating procedures and company guidelines and function with high integrity consistent with the J&J Credo.

·       Required travels is 75-80% domestic and international.

·       Experience in PAH/PH is highly desirable
